Welcome to the first Living Room Track Club playlist! There are 23 tracks in honour of the 23 beers in the Track brewing repertoire and we kick things off with a track from the newly released compilation ‘Eternal journey: The Arrangements & Productions of Charles Stepney’, a perfect set opener in my opinion
Following on from that, a selection of album deep cuts that I hope might be less known to you, including from Yorkshire’s finest Robert Palmer and also nodding to Mr. David Byrne, who recently played three nights a mere 8 minute bike ride away from the taproom
It wouldn’t be an LRDC playlist without a big dump of soul, so you can expect some rare groove as well as some new releases - including one of Manchester’s most exciting emerging artists, Meduulla, as well as the latest single from Ego Ella May, whose new album is shaping up to be great one. We also have a healthy dose of Afrobeat in there from one of my favourite artists Konkolo orchestra and Antibalas, who in turn are signed to one of my favourite labels, Daptone - these are both a big part of my DJ residency at House of Social every Thursday night
Finally, a little dose of broken beats to ramp things up before settling on a big band number by Ella Fitzgerald, one my favourite ways to end a set
I hope you enjoy!
