Todd and Matt from Good Word make some fantastic lager from their brewery in Duluth, Georgia, so when they swung by to collab whilst in the UK, we decided to brew together our very first Tmavý Ležák (Czech Dark Lager).

Our Matt pulled out his old home brew kit so we could give decoction a spin - we drew off some of the mash, brought it to the boil and returned it, resulting in a more complex, deeper malt profile. We hopped it with the absolute classic Saaz - adding herbal, spicy notes to contrast the rich cocoa, caramel and coffee malt character, before lagering until it was super smooth and ridiculously drinkable.
